Ilia Beauty True Skin Serum Foundation Review

Today I’m reviewing the brand new Ilia Beauty True Skin Serum Foundation. It’s a complexion-perfecting, serum-infused foundation that is equal parts skincare and makeup. I feel like this is the perfect time to review this foundation, as Sephora is currently having their VIB sale, where you can get 10-15% off your purchase. Also, before I go on, I want to remind you to use EBATES to get cash back. I personally decided to get mine from Sephora, just in case I needed to return it, as it’s much easier to return to Sephora than many other retailers.

What does Ilia Beauty have to say about their foundation? They claim it gives a light to medium coverage with a radiant finish. It contains some really beautiful ingredients such as; aloe leaf, rose hip, jojoba, and marula oils that help calm redness, diminish the look of fine lines, and ensure the formula effortlessly melts into skin for a more even, luminous, and glowing appearance. It blurs the look of imperfections and minimizes the appearance of pores for a complexion that looks refined and refreshed.

It’s free from parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. It’s also noncomedongenic, gluten free, and cruelty free.

Be sure and watch the video linked above to hear my extensive thoughts, but here I have broken it down into my pros and cons.

PROS

  • Great packaging, glass with a pump
  • Lightweight on the skin
  • Easy to apply (doesn’t set too quickly)
  • Light/Medium coverage
  • Contains skincare ingredients
  • Blurs/minimizes the appearance of pores (when applied with brush)
  • Applies over dry skin nicely (doesn’t cling)
  • Skin looks like skin finish

CONS

  • Doesn’t build on itself very well
  • Settles into fine lines (very quickly)
  • Moves around on the skin (especially in oily areas)
  • Has a scent

Swatched: Tavarua

Overall, I think if you like a light/medium coverage and your skin doesn’t produce a lot of oils, you will likely really enjoy this foundation. It gives the skin a perfected skin line finish. I personally prefer a medium coverage for everyday, but if I’m having a particularly great skin day, I would definitely reach for this foundation.

xo, Jenna
