I love a good cleanser, and this month’s Art of Organics box is featuring not one, but TWO cleansers! I was so excited, especially since one is an oil cleanser, and the other is a creamy cleanser. Basically everything I love and need in a cleanser, in one box.
For me, cleansing is quite easily the most important step to ensuring clear, even, and glowing skin. Over the Winter months my skin has been especially problematic with the dry Winter air. I have been in a constant struggle to keep my cheeks looking soft, smooth, and hydrated. It’s important that a cleanser is able to remove makeup, but also cleanse my skin, and leave it glowing. That’s why this little duo has been working wonderfully for my skin.
It’s a two step process, first removing makeup/spf, and then cleansing the skin.
Eye makeup and sunscreen come off so easily with the Marula Pre-Cleanser. It is this beautiful citrusy and energizing oil cleanser that you massage into your skin. Since it’s an oil, it doesn’t strip the skin, but makeup and sunscreen are gently removed. Once you have it massaged into your skin, then using a warm wash cloth you remove all of the days impurities.
I kind of love that this product is a little more uplifting. At the end of a long day, I am usually really tired and this really brings my senses around.
Now it’s time to cleanse, and treat the skin. The Camu Brightening Cleanser is a soft milky cleanser and it contains German Chamomile. If you know me at all, you know that Chamomile is one of my fav skincare ingredients. So it was no surprise that I loved using this cleanser. It is gently effective at cleansing, but doesn’t leave the skin feeling stripped and tight. Which was perfect for my skin, since it has been so incredibly sensitive lately.
I did notice removing the cleanser from my skin, a slight tingling. It was nothing unpleasant, but rather I felt like the ingredients were really going to work, as products rich in vitamin C often leave me feeling a slight tingle.
I was rather intrigued by Luxe Botanics, as this was my first experience using any of their products. I spent some time on their website, reading about their ethos, ingredient sourcing, and about their other products. I found it rather interesting that the Camu Camu contains more vitamin C than Açaí berry, and is well known for it’s brightening properties. It also helps to repair the skin and evens skin tone. It’s no wonder I really felt the Camu Brightening Cleanser working on my skin. They have an entire line of skincare dedicated to this powerful ingredient.
Likewise, they have two products in the Marula line, both of which are hydrating. Marula is well known for restoring and balancing the natural moisture in the skin, and improving firmness and elasticity.
Overall, I really enjoyed this month’s box. Although at the moment I have very dry skin, I do think that these products are suitable for all skin types. As they were gentle, effective, and used together, not overly drying or leaving my skin feeling too overly hydrating. Another box well done Art of Organics!
