I want to write about this before I completely forget what my last toothache was like.
I have had one wisdom tooth for as long as I can remember… and for the most part it doesn’t cause me any problems. Only ever twice has it flared up, the first time was a while ago… all I remember was that it flared up and calmed down within a couple of days, without doing anything specifically for it.
This time the flare up was so bad that I wasn’t sleeping at night. The pain was so bad! I figured it would settle down on it’s own, but after 3 sleepless nights, and two days of only wanting to eat soup, I decided it was time for me to take action against it.
As a nursing mom, I try to avoid medication. Along with my natural ways, I was looking for a natural cure for this brutal toothache.
I figured that I must have had some infection, and that if I went to the dentist, they would want to prescribe an antibiotic.
So – what is nature’s best antibiotic? Garlic! 🙂
This is what I did!
Take a small dish and put a little splash of olive oil in it.
Crush 1 clove of garlic, and place it in the olive oil.
Swirl it around a little bit, to infuse the olive oil with the garlic.
Using a q-tip, dab it in the oil and get a chunk of the garlic on the swab.
Place it on the inflamed area of the tooth. Keep it there for as long as you can stand it.
Be Warned: The garlic is very strong! It may even burn a bit. You are going to be tasting and smelling garlic for a while after this.
Do this about 3 times a day, until your tooth is feeling better. It took a couple of days, but my tooth is back to normal, and all is well!
You may still need to see a dentist, just sayin’. This is only my experience and what worked for me.
Good luck!
Jenna

Oil of oregano or clove oil work really well too 🙂
